Turkey Day is Upon Us...

So, here's our "Cassawary" ( I have no idea how to spell that), but it's an Australian bird that's very VERY dangerous and can't fly and is as big as the teacher!!  The kindergarten class put on a darling and very informative presentation for Thanksgiving all about Australia.  They have learned so much and so have I since their teacher was in Australia for an entire year.
Smile for the camera.... DO IT!!
This one has thoroughly enjoyed kindergarten.  I give a lot of credit to his great teacher, who is always amazing me with her ideas for the class.
I am so grateful for her this Thanksgiving along with so many other blessings... how do I even begin?  A baby girl coming soon, an amazing husband and two beautiful boys, relatives we never see who get to spend the holiday with us, the best friends on earth, our HEALTH and the joy of living in a beautiful, friendly community where we feel so at home.  Thank you, thank you!!  We hope you all enjoy your holiday and are able to be with  those you love.

Two Little Gentlemen

We were lucky to find an amazing photographer to take some family shots downtown.  Here's our biggest... as you can see he's writing up a storm these days!
And our littlest (soon to be middlest!) with his sweet smile.  His 3rd Birthday is right around the corner.  I can hardly believe it!  I love it though... these really are my favorite ages.  I love babies, but when they start talking and having a little personality it is too cute.  Their innocence and wisdom blows me away all at the same time!

One more from Eleanor

Beautiful ocean at La Jolla Shores... it's calling me
And another favorite from Eleanor...I have to remind myself of this one A LOT ;-)

Great minds discuss ideas; Average minds discuss events; Small minds discuss people.

Fun in the Warm Warm Sun

This weekend we went down to the Valley of the Sun for some warm weather and to visit friends. The first friends we saw are the proud parents of twins, Will and Kate, born at 27 weeks gestation. They are now 31 weeks and doing great! They are so beautiful and look just like miniature newborn babies. They even have a little hair! It was so great to see them. They are such a miracle!
We took the kids to Encanto Park, which is HUGE and so much fun! Soren wasn't sure about all the rides, but he had big brother to protect him!
We got to each lunch with our other great friends at one of my favorite Valley restaurants.... Postino. It is modern, fresh, Italianish Americanish??? Hard to describe, but sooooo good!
One ride everyone loves... the carousel!
And we came home to this!!! Yes, that is snow you see in our front yard! We drove through a blizzard to get home the night before and this was the beautiful sight the next morning. We love the seasons, but thank goodness warm weather is always just a short drive away :-)

The Verdict is in....

It's a GIRL!!!! We had our ultrasound today and everything was perfect. We are so excited to be adding a girl to our all boy family. The boys are super excited to have a sister (suprised me!). The boys will share a room with bunk beds, which they already love, and we'll be painting the nursery pink! Thank you all for your congrats and well wishes. We feel so blessed!!

Favorite Quotes

I love quotes and love to share my favorites. This one in particular always gives me strength in challenging situations:

We gain strength, and courage, and confidence by each experience in which we really stop to look fear in the face... we must do that which we think we cannot.

Eleanor Roosevelt

I also love Eleanor Roosevelt. What a deeply inspiring woman. I will try to post many great quotes from her along the way.

OBAMA for yo' MAMA!!!!!!

Yahooooooooooo!!! I'm am thrilled to say Barrack Obama is the next president of the US! What an exciting night it was. It brought tears to my eyes to see the pride on the faces of the black AND white communities. People were crying, hugging, laughing all together. It was almost surreal. I think we are going to get back on track and see an America many of us have never seen before. I'm so proud of our country right now. More to come....

Another BLog comin' your way!

So, some of you may know... this is my 3rd attempt at blogging. I like the idea of it, I like reading other people's blogs... even stalking other people through their blogs. I just can't seem to find the time to stalk myself! So, this time I'm going to really really try. To introduce, we are a little family consisting of one loving, hardworking mom, one handsome, hardworking dad, two energetic, creative and sweet boys and one little pea on the way! We are happy despite stressful times and love nothing more than being together. Our favorite "togetherness" includes: hiking, biking, going out to eat at delicious restaurants, travelling, watching movies with popcorn, making forts, catching bugs, reading stories while we snuggle and the ever popular BOYS NIGHT during which I get to retreat for some much needed relaxation!
We find out the sex of our pea November 10th. I will let you all know that day!
